How much is my project going to cost?
This is a great question! The cost of your project depends on the scope of work, final details and materials selected. Before an accurate estimate can be calculated a detailed design must be created. Our Architect and Interior Designer specialize in designing projects to comfortably fit within your budget! Remodeling Magazine publishes an annual cost vs.value report which is a great reference tool when establishing a budget.
What types of projects do you specialize in?
We are a design-build remodeling firm. This allows our clients to contract with us for all their design and construction services. We are the only Contractor in Salem with a Registered Architect and Interior Designer. Our build staff consists of detail oriented craftsmen who are experts in our industry. Our professional staff can assist you with a simple window replacement, a large second story addition, or anything in between!
What can I expect on an initial consultation?
Our Architect and/or Interior Designer will visit your home and inspect the areas of your home that you are considering remodeling. We will also present some information about our company and allow you to interview us. This interview gives you a chance to decide if you are comfortable working with our organization.
Do you provide free estimates?
We offer complimentary architectural and interior design consultations. Our 1st visit with our Architect or Interior Designer has a value of $250 and it is our pleasure to provide this complimentary free service to you. When you choose to hire Golden Rule Remodeling & Architecture to begin designing and estimating your project we enter into a Professional Services Agreement. During the design phase our Architect or Interior Designer will work with you to create designs that sculpt your dreams within the agreed investment range.
What type of architectural design services do you offer?
Jack Johnston, our Architect is an expert in creating spaces that meet the client’s needs and lifestyle. Reflection upon professional education and experience helps Jack guide clients through the entire process, helping make the most out of the construction dollar! You will also see complete and accurate construction documents ensuring successful and timely construction with no detail overlooked.
What type of interior design services do you offer?
Jillian Renner, our Interior Designer specializes in residential design and creates spaces that are functional, maintain their beauty and meet the needs of the client. Her formal education and experience assist in guiding our clients through the entire design process. Jillian is also a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. NKBA members are trained experts in kitchen and bath design and construction and current with the wealth of products on the market!
What type of plans and documents will I see during the design phase?
By carefully planning your project we are able to create full sets of construction documents. These documents include floor plan views, elevations, construction details and colored 3D architectural renderings. We will also present you with full specifications listing material selections, sizes, quantities, finishes etc. Our goal is for our clients to know exactly what they are getting before a construction agreement is ever signed.
Do you offer financing?
Although we do not offer financing at this time, we do have contacts we can refer you to in the mortgage and banking industry that can help you with this step.
How long will the construction process take?
Timeline of course depends on the scope of work. Our Architect and Interior Designer will discuss timelines with you on our very first visit. We will also provide you with a schedule before construction begins so that you can plan accordingly. Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential during the entire design-build process. We believe this is the secret to remodeling success!
Will there be dust during construction?
Construction can be a messy process. Our production crew and tradesmen are very attentive to maintaining adequate dust protection and daily job site clean up. When necessary plastic protection is hung and floor protection laid before any construction begins! We do our absolute best to minimize dust and keep it contained within the construction area.
Who will be performing the work?
Being a design-build firm allows us to employ expert carpenters. All of our employees are carefully screened and references checked before hiring. Our production crew and tradesmen are friendly, on time, clean and always respectful of your home.
