The original kitchen was dated, and the flow of space was not very functional. There was also only one entrance to the back of the home through the cramped kitchen.  We took down the kitchen and dining room to the studs and redesigned the space including new window locations and sizes. A new solatube was installed over the new island to provide additional natural light into the space. A Decorative column serves as structural support and a nice architectural element.  The beechwood cabinetry is lovely and was installed with many custom features for the homeowners.
